HB 810, “Charlie’s Law,” Unanimously Passes Texas Senate

After passing the Texas House unanimously, HB 810 also passed the Texas Senate unanimously. Next, it goes to Governor Abbott’s office to be signed into law. Governor Abbott has already tweeted that he is eager to sign the bill into law.

Known as “Charlie’s Law,” in honor of former, and now deceased, Texas State Representative Charlie Howard, this historic achievement marks the first time in the United States that the treatment of patients with expanded adult stem cells will be legal — however, it will only be legal in the state of Texas.
